The January 13 MVP Dotting was a major griefing event carried out by players Akane and Rug19 on Canvas 8 (MVP) around midnight (UTC) between January 12th and 13th 2026 and was the most severe illegal griefing attack to ever take place on the canvas.

Process

The dotting began on January 12th 2026 at 11:42PM UTC with Akane attacking the continental USA.

At the same time, player and MVP moderator Wolfy was active in Europe but failed to notice the griefing taking place in America.

The attack immediately spread over the entire canvas and lasted for 40 minutes until January 13th 12:22AM UTC, when Wolfy was alerted by player ToastbrotJ’s Discord notification and banned both griefers and signaled so with the message “tango down”.

Aftermath

Both Akane and Rug19 received a permanent ban from the game.

ToastbrotJ used the event as an opportunity to apply for MVP moderation, arguing that with more mods, something like this could have been prevented, and succeeded, being inaugerated on January 19th.

At around 12:39PM UTC the canvas was reset by Owmince to its state before the dotting with a backup provided by Captain Winky

Francis Joseph’s land was the only region completely untouched by the griefing.

Discourse

After the event, arguments began about whether the canvas should be reset to blank white. Toast argued that it should not be reset because old art would be lost, which Wolfy countered by saying “its better to leave things in the past. We give it meaning because we the players choose to never forget them“.

Upon Toast’s immediate concern about the situation, Akane commented “leave it to the nazi to uphold the pxp codex. Fits the games new style perfectly”. He later explained to Toast that he meant this in relation to the moderation of PP, stating:

“There's almost zero moderation and when there is it's lazy. Was looking into a few notable Turkish players who were suspected of using a script to help them win wars, guild wars, player wars etc with Soldier and Skill before Christmas, even got some potential evidence, and it got one look at and that was it. No follow up questions, no nothing.”

Akane stated that he feels indifferent about being terminated and that he assumed it would happen, but said he did not commit the dotting with the intention of going out with a bang.
