African History

The Fruit Empire began as a humble South-East African Nation. The South African Empire of Vanisila was the dominant power south of the Congo, but the Fruit Army was able to establish a foothold in North Mozambique. The fruit army invaded west to no resistance, moving into Zambia, the Southern Congo, Rhodesia, and Malawi. After aquisition of territory, the Fruit Empire established an fruit based export economy. Bananas, Cherrys, Apples, and Eggplants all became major exports, but the most profitable were Oranges. However, for the Fruiters of Africa, their time in the sun was short lived. As dawn approached over the horizon, so too did the Vanisila army. Three wars were fought, all in defeat for the Fruiters. After the first two wars, the empire was completely demolished, but after the third, a small city state was created as compensation. Feeling discouraged however, the Fruiters in mass migration left for South East Asia, where the next part of the story begins.

Within only a short span of time, hundreds of thousands of Fruiters fled to Indochina. The fruiters made first landing into Central Vietnam, before quickly expanding west into the entire peninula. But just as soon as the Fruiters arrived, they fled from the Chinese who already controlled Indochina. For the third attempt, the Fruiters migrated south, into the Indian Subcontinent. The southern half of the penninsula was taken successfully. In the North, the Chinese partitioned India, as they took the Northern half. The Fruit Empire exists today exporting oranges to the Indian Ocean. Now that they have stabalized, Emperor Master Higgins (Depicted in the southern half of the country) fully intends to increase exports to bananas, eggplants, cherrys, and more once again.

Just as good times were on the horizon for the Fruit Empire, their entire land, along with the entire lands of the Middle East and Africa were annexed by Jupiter. The Fruiters however would not lie down like before. After fleeing to Sri Lanka, the Fruiters invaded back into the penninsula, and the Short War began, as a swift invasion up the penninsula brought peace talks nearly immediately. Higgins and Jupiter met in conference, and after initially wanting to take over 60% of the nations former lands, the Treatry of Citra saw the Fruiters ceed only a little bit of territory.

Important Symbolism Within The Country

There are several very important symbols within the great Fruit Empire. The flag itself, is a multifaceted symbol representing the literal fruits of the people's labor. The green represents fertility and growth and the white represents the people in between the fertile and growing lands. The center orange is a reminder of the fruit which saved the Fruiter people from certain death in Africa and Indochina and has allowed the Fruit Empire to fluorish in India.

Both complete forms of the Fruit Empire contain artwork of the Fruiters esteemed leader, Master Higgins. Master Higgins is the sole leader of the Empire, and he has complete control over 100% of fruit production within the Empire. Although this seems like a nation asking for a tyranical dictator, his past experiences have managed to keep him a humble emperor. In the northern part of the Empire is an homage to the countries 'secondary fruits.' The secondary fruits are a collection of fruits that are of less importance to the Empire than the Orange, but are still necessary exports for the economy. These fruits include The Higgins' Eggplant, The Banana, The Cherry, The Carrot, and The Cherry.

The Higgins' Eggplant is very distinct compared to the rest of the fruits, because despite being an edible fruit like the rest, it's purpose is not of consumption for health but as a toxin. The Higgins' Eggplant was discovered by Master Higgins on his journey's in Oceania and South East Asia (See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adventure_Island_(video_game) for more). The Higgins' Eggplant if consumed is highly toxic. When eaten, the Higgins Eggplant will sit in the stomach for a very long period of time, because stomach acid very slowly dissolves it. As it sits inside the stomach being digested, the Higgins' Eggplant will begin to absorb nutrients from the host. In order to survive a Higgins' Eggplant, a person will have to consume food at a rapid pace to outpace the Eggplant's absorbtion. The Higgins Eggplant will fully dissolve within 16 hours, but as long as food is consumed at a fast rate for the first hour, the person will have a high likelihood of survival.
