FULC(Fulcrum)
FULC, better known as Fulcrum, was an alliance that became a major MvP Faction and Global Empire. Fulcrum was established on May 28th, 2020 when the Founding Fathers of the alliance, BenHerr of FLDA/ROME, Vadar12 of EPRS, and Abhinav21 of ROSS, agreed to combine forces into a new faction altogether, and would lead it together as The Triumvirate. The result was the creation of one of the most powerful factions in MVP history. The faction name itself is a Star Wars reference, based off of Former Jedi Ahsoka Tano's codename and intelligence group, "Fulcrum".
General History
The Beginning
Fulcrum would begin it's history in Early May of 2020, as the name of the Military High Command of the UPF (United Pixel Factions). BenHerr would serve as the Fulcrum Military Director, being second in command to the UPF Leader, Anxavers. BenHerr, under the supervision of Anxavers, would lead Military Directives with the goal of expanding and protecting the territories of UPF Member Nations.
After some time, UPF influence and began to diminish across the globe, with many member states beginning to lose territory to enemy factions. Fulcrum Command attempted to resolve these issues but Anxavers instead gave out controversial orders which only allowed BenHerr to defend lesser-contested areas of land. Anxaver's leadership was soon called into question by many UPF members, including BenHerr, who had decided to take matters in his own hands.
By Mid May, Ben Herr attempted to launch a Coup against Anxavers, to take full control of the UPF in order to restore stability and security of all UPF Member States.
The Coup would be successful, with Ben Herr receiving backing from the overwhelming majority of UPF Members. However, Anxavers would not be completely removed from power. Instead, he would become leader of the UPF Assembly, which would act as a Senatorial body for all UPF Member Nations. However, true control of the UPF would be given to BenHerr, Vadar12, and Abhinav21, who collaborated to convert into and lead Fulcrum as its own faction. Fulcrum would be the leading faction of the UPF, with its Triumvirate making all Military and Defense related decisions. Not all Military Action would be made with Executive Orders or Immediate Action Declarations. Some decisions, including but not limited to, Declarations of War on nations that had not directly attacked a UPF Member State, or taking Military Action against a UPF Member going rogue, were left for the Senate to debate and decide.
With the most relevant and prosperous Nations under the UPF alliance, Fulcrum, as a Faction, would begin its life with a Golden Age of uncontested Power and Influence across the entire Globe.
The Golden Age =
Fulcrum, at its height, would consistently control most of the Americas, with North America being its main homeland. Fulcrum would also occupy Oceania, Australia, Southeast Asia, various African territories, Iceland, Norway, and portions of Greenland along with an Antarctic colony. As for the rest of the World, Fulcrum would hold influence over other UPF Member Nations and Client States.
Multiple uprisings would attempt to resist against Fulcrum's Governance across the world. However, Anti-Fulcrum movements were consistently crushed throughout the Summer of 2020. However, due to eventual lower member activity and an influx of new players caused by YouTuber Drew Durnil, Fulcrum began to fall into a decline. And eventually, a new anti-Fulcrum faction known as NUWA, would rally enough forces and allies to rival the Empire. Fulcrum and the UPF Alliance as a whole would continue to lose political influence and territory during numerous conflicts worldwide into the Fall of 2020.
Despite it's sharp decline, Fulcrum's presence in the globe would continue to persist. Unfortunately, the Empire was doomed despite attempts to fully reignite it's war machine. By late August-Early September, Fulcrum had lost roughly 80% of its users and allies to inactivity, and had lost much of its global influence. This would lead to Fulcrum becoming dormant on September 1st, 2020, as user BenHerr "officially retired" the faction in an announcement on the former Fulcrum operations discord server.
Despite the announced shutdown of the faction, instances of Fulcrumism would continue to exist. On September 23rd, multiple users attempted to revive the faction, with limited success, with several Fulcrumist Nations persisting for some time after in various parts of the globe.
The Dark Age
On 10/05/20, the Fulcrum Triumvirate would go back into session and began to plan a revival of the faction, and made preparations for the launch of Pixelplace V2. A meeting with the CSNA was arranged, and an alliance was established. On 10/08/20, the Faction was fully re-activated, and an official campaign was greenlit on Canvas 7. Fulcrum would occupy all of Greenland, the presence marked with a massive Fulcrum logo made by Abhinav21.
On 10/09/20, PixelPlace V2 was released. The Faction was publicly declared to be fully operational once again, and a massive MVP campaign was authorized by the Triumvirate. Due to the canvas being of a much larger size, and a few server crashes, the campaign took longer than anticipated but was ultimately successful within a few hours. Some arguments arose from neighboring factions but the disputes were resolved before they evolved into full fledged conflicts.
This event would be know as "The New Revival". However, this newly established Fulcrum presence would not last for long. Following the Fifth Fulcrum world war and other conflicts, Fulcrum's influence and strength would once again deteriorate, due to the decreasing amount of faction members and user activity.
The Age of The Remnant
The New Rival, despite its promise, would be short lived. With dwindling manpower and influence, and with the growing power of rival factions such as NUWA and the Seljuks (SELJ), Fulcrum would be pressed into more remote areas of the globe, struggling to remain afloat. By November of 2020, Fulcrum had become a "Remnant" of its former self, and confined its presence to islands north of the Russian mainland and portions of Siberia. By the middle of the month, Fulcrum would regain some strength that would allow itself to establish a presence in Siberia, however that would not last. By December, all remaining Fulcrum members would become inactive. The Triumvirate dissolved by 12/31/20, rendering Fulcrum mostly defunct.
Trivia
One user with malicious intentions attempted to impersonate Fulcrum in Turkey, sometime during the fall of 2020. To prevent massive confusion over the status of Fulcrum, MvP Moderators were asked to intervene in the situation. In order to avoid a possible ban, the offending user, at the last minute, changed the fake faction's name to "Fullcum" while retaining Fulcrum's color and decorative style. MvP mods would then rule that creating knockoff versions of factions with the intent to troll should be illegal. The creator of the Fulcrum knockoff would initially refuse to comply with the mods. But after receiving multiple warnings, however, he backed down and ceased maintaining the Fulcrum bootleg. In order to prevent this kind of situation from happening again, MvP moderators would update the MvP Rules page with a new measure, now commonly known as "The Fulcrum Rule", that prohibits users from making knockoffs of factions with malicious intent. This incident was used as an example in the new entry, fully solidifying Fulcrum in the Pixelplace Canon.
