Description
AlexPlusC, often referred to as simply “Alex,” was introduced to Pixelplace.io by a friend of his, Snoozingnewt. AlexPlusC is a relatively new user and joined Pixelplace.io in January 2022. He is a Vietnamese American who lives in the United States (US) in Oregon, and likes mathematics and classical music. Alex usually plays as the Republic of Aequia (ROA), also known as Aequia, on World Wars, except on small canvases, on which he plays as the Penguin Republic of Greater Antarctica, a nation led by an emperor penguin acting as the dictator of the country.
History
When AlexPlusC first joined Pixelplace.io, he quickly befriended Hax0rPwnz0r, who guided him with learning how to play the game, and allied with his nation on /7. Hax0r asked Alex to join RALS, and Alex agreed. Alex also invited his friends, such as DoughnutLord, Dragonking9, Fallamute, and Jahgtiger, to play on Pixelplace.io and join RALS, and this ultimately increased the popularity of RALS and caused it to rise up the Guild list.
Discouraged by the abundance of dotters, Alex eventually largely stopped playing on /7 and started playing on Pika’s World War V2. He continued to play as Aequia and became notorious for being that one person with way too many allies.
As time went on, AlexPlusC started to get to know other users, such as Catty, who has wasted many coins just to give Rainbow Usernames to Alex; Deviousname, who helped Alex repair his nation on /7; Pancake11037, who is consistently a strong ally of Aequia; and many more.
When Hax0rPwnz0r deleted RALS in an impulsive decision, AlexPlusC created his own guild, AEQI, dedicated to the Republic of Aequia, and Catty was the first and only one to join. Others joined a new guild called “RALT,” which caused RALS to be briefly split into factions, although AEQI and RALT agreed to be allied guilds. Luckily, Hax0r soon created RALZ, the official sequel to RALS, and both AEQI and RALT were abandoned.
Aequia
AlexPlusC typically plays as a fictional country, which he calls the “Republic of Aequia,” on Pixelplace.io. The idea for Aequia originated from some mischief in his school band, and some have said, “That’s a weird origin story for a country but I like it.”
Clarinet Alliance
Near the beginning of the 2021–2022 school year, in the school band, the trumpets decided to wage war on the clarinets. In response, Alex formed the Clarinet Alliance, an alliance of instruments against the trumpets, with the goal of securing peace, unity, and equality for its members, and made himself the leader. In World War I, the Clarinet Alliance was comprised of the B♭ clarinets, bass clarinets, flutes, and, later on, the trombone. The Trumpet Powers had the alto saxophones, tenor saxophone, trumpets, and tuba. During the entirety of the war, the bass guitars, French horn, and the percussion section all officially retained their neutral status, although the percussion section did lend support to the Clarinet Alliance. By the end of the lengthy war, the Trumpet Powers announced their surrender. This established the Clarinet Alliance as the predominant world power and started a civil conflict within the Trumpet Powers.
The Trumpet Powers were soon trapped in a democratic crisis, with unclear leadership—two of the trumpets stated that they were the sole leader of the trumpet section and the Trumpet Powers. Eventually, one of the groups created a breakaway state and formed the Trumpet and Saxophone Coalition (TaSC) with the alto saxophones. The TaSC was overall unsuccessful as it was perpetually engaged in a cold war with the Trumpet Powers, and, unlike the Trumpet Powers, was unsuccessful in working towards repairing international relations with the Clarinet Alliance for the most part. Soon, the TaSC broke apart, the trumpets were reunified, and the alto saxophones switched to becoming a neutral party.
Tensions increased between the Clarinet Alliance and the Trumpet Powers after the Trumpet Powers failed to follow the agreements accepted by both alliances as part of the treaty that ended World War I. World War II saw the shocking departure of the flutes from the Clarinet Alliance after much persuasion from the Trumpet Powers, resulting from a combination of the assurance of protection of the trumpets as well as other benefits, threats of consistent rickrolling by the trumpets if the flutes did not agree to join the Trumpet Powers, and the persistent trumpet propaganda spread by the Trumpet Powers. However, it also saw the bassoon joining the band and Clarinet Alliance, the percussion instruments finally officially declaring their entrance into the Clarinet Alliance, and the alto saxophones coming to support and ultimately join the Clarinet Alliance. Once again, the Clarinet Alliance emerged as victorious.
The leader of the Trumpet Powers later reported about his plan to join the Clarinet Alliance in hopes of helping the Clarinet Alliance pursue making its ideals for peace, unity, and equality a reality for everyone in the school band. Doing so would cause the role of the Clarinet Alliance to transition from a source of mutual protection against enemies to keeping peace among its members, as it would have become the only major alliance in the school band. However, although the trumpets’ power had been weakening more and more since World War II, many voters in member states of the Trumpet Powers preferred to maintain the status quo, and, thus, the unification that the Clarinet Alliance had wished to achieve through the referendum failed. Still, the Clarinet Alliance and Trumpet Powers have had a favorable relationship and a long period of peace began, with scarcely any interruptions of conflict. Both alliances aim to continue the current status of this situation.
Pixelplace.io
AlexPlusC’s nation on Pixelplace.io, the Republic of Aequia, takes its inspiration from the Clarinet Alliance, sharing the same flag and goals. It typically resides in North America.

When AlexPlusC first joined Pixelplace.io, one of the first things that he noticed was that Nevada and Utah were both completely white. He would later realize that this was likely someone sinking those states, but he initially thought that they were white since no one had conquered them and were free to take. So, Alex painted the flag of the Clarinet Alliance on them and Nevada and Utah became the first two states within Aequia’s territory.
Alex asked other users if he could paint on other states to invade them, and they replied that he could. With the help of Hax0rPwnz0r and other members of RALS, Aequia went on to take over a significant portion of Western North America and expanded eastward. Hax0rPwnz0r also created his own country next to Aequia and allied with Alex: RALSland, also known as Greater Minnesota, which owned Minnesota, North Dakota, and most of South Dakota. RALSland was eventually absorbed by ROA due to the decrease of activity of RALS members on /7.
At its greatest extent on /7, in Canada, Aequia controlled Alberta, British Columbia, and Yukon. In the US, it controlled Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Washington, Wisconsin, and Wyoming, as well as Jackson Purchase region of Kentucky and small parts of the Pennyroyal Plateau and Western Coal Field regions, the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, and West Tennessee. In Mexico, it controlled Baja California and Baja California Sur. Its capital was Portland, Oregon.
After several days of fighting back against separatist rebels, dotters, and others—surviving for quite a while, compared to many other countries on /7—Aequia’s activity on /7 was mostly ended.
Pika’s World War V2
On Pika’s World War V2, a canvas created by Awesomepika, the Republic of Aequia had historical claims to land in every continent, but most of it was in North America. Although the territory Aequia controlled fluctuated quite a bit, due to its excessive amount of allies, membership in the United Nations (UN), and eagerness to accept suboptimal agreements in lieu of war, its history on Pika’s World War V2 was relatively peaceful. The majority of its lost land was because of WRC’s funding of separatist movements within Aequia’s borders, most significantly in Canada.
Throughout the time Pika’s World War V2 was active, the Aequia remained a very strong ally of the Imperial Military Union (IMU; Pancake11037), Kalmar (Hax0rPwnz0r—who originally played as Denmark on Pika’s World War V2—and a few other users), and the Pacific States of America (PSA; Awesomepika).
The capital of ROA on Pika’s World War V2 moved around quite a bit. Madrid, Spain was the original capital city, but then it moved to Portland, Oregon. When AlexPlusC gave Oregon to his friend, DoughnutLord, the capital city became Denver, Colorado.
Pika’s World War V2 is not closed yet, but it is extremely inactive.
Pika’s World War V3
On Pika’s World War V3, in Canada, ROA owns Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and part of Nunavut. In the US, it owns Arizona, Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, and South Dakota, as well as the majority of Montana and Wyoming and parts of Idaho, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri. It owns all of Mexico except for Baja California and Baja California Sur, which PSA claims. Aequia also owns Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama. As with Pika’s World War V2, the capital of the Republic of Aequia is Denver, Colorado. Also, Mexico City and Winnipeg are marked as major cities on the map. Again, the Republic of Aequia is a member of the UN.
DoughnutLord, Dragonking9, DrewFan14, and Jahgtiger’s nations are all puppets of the Republic of Aequia. As a result of agreements with Barce, who controls a Mormon country composed mainly of most of the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia on Pika’s World War V3, AlexPlusC and Barce both have control in Utah and a part of Wyoming. The region effectively operates as a sovereign nation under the influence of both governments.
On this canvas, the ROA has 1 000 000 active soldiers in its military.
A major war occurred when Bloodyhell and MaliEmpire (who was named “GreaterMali” when AlexPlusC first met MaliEmpire), who are actually good friends of AlexPlusC, started a separatist movement in Mexico and Central America. Fortunately, Catty (who plays as the Somainan Empire), DreIsDaddy (who plays as Japan), Maniaman778 (who plays for EMOG), Polskie2 (Polskie’s alternate account, who plays as Rome), SkittleMC (who plays as one of the nations in the EUAL using the color black, or #000000), Usernamein2 (who plays as French Helvetica), and YawnAbyss (who plays as the United Socialist States of America, or USSA) were all online and helped AlexPlusC defeat the rebels.

Pika’s World War V4
On Pika’s World War V4, the Republic of Aequia plans to eventually have the following territories.
In Africa, the ROA plans to have Algeria, Mali, Mauritania, Morocco, Senegal, the Gambia, Tunisia, and Western Sahara (which is disputed between Morocco and the partially recognized Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic).
In Antarctica, the ROA has Berkner Island and several other nearby islands surrounded by the Filchner–Ronne Ice Shelf.
In Asia, the ROA has the land controlled by the partially recognized Taiwan (also claimed by China).
In Europe, the ROA has Belgium, the Faroe Islands of the Danish Realm, France, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, and the United Kingdom.
In North America, the ROA plans to have Belize (which includes some land claimed by Guatemala); New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, and Quebec of Canada; Alabama, Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, D.C., West Virginia, and Wisconsin of the United States; and the Caribbean islands.
In Oceania, the ROA has the Chatham Islands of New Zealand.
In South America, the ROA plans to have Argentina; the Falkland Islands and South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands of the British Overseas Territories; French Guiana of France; Guyana; Bouvet Island of Norway; Suriname; Uruguay; and Venezuela.
Flag
The official flag of the Republic of Aequia has an aspect ratio of 3:5. It is a vertical bicolor split evenly in half, with black (#202020) on the left and white (#e0e0e0) on the right. There is a horizontal line extending through the entire width of the flag, with a thickness of one-sixth of the height of the flag. The line is divided equally into two stripes, the one on the top being orange (#ffa040) and the one on the bottom being blue (#40a0ffff).
The black represents unity and the white represents equality. The orange and blue stripes symbolize the shared hope for peace of all the people of Aequia.
On Pixelplace.io, at first, the hexadecimal color codes used for the black, white, orange, and blue were #000000, #ffffff, #e59500, and #044bff, respectively. Later on, this was changed to #222222, #c4c4c4, #e59500, and #36baff, with the color used for the orange stripe remaining unchanged. A gold (#e5d900) border is used when drawing Aequia’s flag on Pixelplace.io.

- AlexPlusC’s real name is, indeed, “Alex”… not “Alexander” or something like that.
- AlexPlusC’s username comes from a joke about teachers being frustrated with students forgetting to add the constant of integration at the end of antiderivatives, so some students would add “+ C” to the end of practically everything they write to stay on the safe side—thus the “PlusC” appended to Alex’s name in the username.
