Symbolism

Tanks

Pudel tank monument in Alaska

Toast made the first tank in the Poland puppet in Western Russia in January 2020. The tank was based on the real life counterpart "Pudel", which was a German Panther tank that was captured by the Polish Home Army during the Warsaw uprising 1944. The tank has been standing as a monument in Alaska whenever Toast is active since April 2020.

Toast has since then created several tank designs, some of which are based on real life models.

Buildings

Parliament building

Parliament building

The parliament building was adopted in August 2020 as a representation of the government headquarters. The design of which the original artist is unknown was copied from China. The design on the front face of the building, which was modified by Toast, looks like the letters "ALO", this is why Alaska is referred to as ALO or ALO Alaska.

House of Departments

House of Departments

The House of Departments (HoD) was adopted in September 2025 and represents the seat of the Alaskan Departments, which act as different Institutions.

National Symbol

The National Symbol of ALO Alaska is the Jera rune from the FUTHARK rune alphabet. It stands for luck and tradition.

In the past Alaska has had 2 (two) precursors to the Jera rune as national symbol. The first one was a swastika based off of old insignia of Finnish tanks. The second one was the Wolfsangel. Both of these were banned because of their relation to fascism. Toast switched to the Jera rune one day before the Wolfsangel was banned.

314-Monument

History of the 314-Monument

The 314-Monument is a statue that commemorates the dispute over Banks Island between Alaska and CSNA, who both claimed the territory, in 2020. In October 2020 CSNA used a proxy country to invade ALO, whom they had an NAP with, on Banks Island. When Toast demanded the Island back, the two parties had a 1h 40m discussion about what should happen to the island. They settled on the agreement to split the Island in half at Y-level 314. When CSNA completely invaded Alaska, someone from the CSNA faction wrote "XXX.314 no more" under the former border, Toast did the same when CSNA was defeated in November. To this day the monument stands on Banks Island, reminding of the dispute.

Factories

In 2020 player KyleBowman made factory buildings in Northern Canada. Toast later copied these factories and only found out who actually made them a few years later, originally believing VicVicLudo to have made them. To this day sometimes they can be seen on the Canadian Islands .

Departments

Departments are Institutions that each have their own organisational tasks. This involves a bit of roleplay.
